PM Imran asks the world to unfreeze Afghan assets

On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the international community to unlock frozen assets in Afghanistan, continue collaborating with the new Afghan administration, and provide emergency humanitarian assistance to avoid a possible economic collapse.

When outgoing Japanese Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda paid a farewell visit to the Prime Minister House, Prime Minister Harper made an appeal to the international community.

In addition, the two sides discussed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Pakistan and Japan on the export of manpower from Pakistan to Japan under projects such as the Technical Intern Training (TIT) and Specialized Skilled Workers (SSW). Both sides stressed the importance of maximising efforts to reap optimal benefits.

Establish a new institution in Kabul and provide assistance to prevent economic collapse.

He wished the ambassador the best of luck in his future assignments after congratulating him on a successful tenure in Pakistan.

In his address, PM Khan reaffirmed Pakistan's strong desire to deepen and broaden economic, trade, development, and investment cooperation with Japan, which is rooted in mutual trust and understanding.

Japan's ambassador thanked the premiers for addressing a letter to Fumio Kishida, the new Prime Minister of Japan, and recalled his discussions with Japanese dignitaries about various issues. In addition to supporting peace and stability in the region and beyond, the premier was lauded for his policy of strengthening Pakistan's ties with Japan.

I also sincerely thank the Pakistani government for its role in assisting the evacuation of Japanese nationals and others from Afghanistan in recent months. 2022 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Japan, and the two sides also envisioned celebrating this milestone in an appropriate way.

PM Khan emphasized Pakistan's vital interest in a peaceful and stable Afghanistan from a regional perspective. In addition, he stressed the importance of national reconciliation and an inclusive political structure.
